Publisher Description
SOUNDWALK COLLECTIVE & DAVID DE ROTHSCHILD
present JUNGLE-IZED LITE, an immersive audio experience set in Times Square that transports you to the heart of the Amazon rainforest, encouraging a conversation with nature and heightening awareness of the environmental impact of climate change.
A creation of SOUNDWALK COLLECTIVE in collaboration with a Voice for Nature, featuring Amazon rainforest sound environments recorded by Francisco L pez.
Developed along the 73rd meridian connecting Times Square NYC with the Amazon, JUNGLE-IZED creates a jungle-to-concrete jungle link by re-inviting Nature into the city, revealing the absence of what was once here where we stand, and has now completely vanished.
An intimate experience bringing us back to the sound of our origins, Nature being the womb of our creation.
Start the App, touch the screen, plug in your headphones and begin a journey through an interactive sound installation that superimposes the Amazon ecosystem upon the area of Times Square.
You can walk between 43rd and 47th Streets, along 7th Avenue & Broadway. Each street represents a different time of the day or the night in the Amazon sound environment. You will move deeper into the night as you walk North.
Download the full JUNGLE-IZED App to experience a more in depth sound experience, that allows you to walk deeper into the rainforest sound environments over an eight square block area around Times Square.
In partnership with Times Square Arts, Audio-Technica, The Lost Explorer and CXA-ART. Mobile App powered by Motive.io, in collaboration with the GPS Museum Lab. Premium audio listening experiences available through Audio-Technica headphones. Photo and Film captured with NIKON D750 and NIKKOR Lenses.
Requires iOS 6.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
